Here’s a niche gotcha with the clipboard API’s navigator.clipboard.writeText() method that’s unique to Safari:

If you access a function from a module within your gesture handler (e.g., click handler), you will get a permission error.

The (sadly hacky and not as robust) workaround is to set a global variable from your module instead.

I've been using Airtable to track conference submissions. Banner year for me... out of 38 submissions so far, I've gotten... 2 acceptances.

Seriously considering just stopping - focusing on writing, video, streaming.

At this point I stop pitching to #WebDev #conferences because either my topics are trash and / or I'm not influential enough in the scene.

I applied to small and big ones and they all have one thing in common: Ghosting me after I asked why they rejected me.

They're probably busy and don't have time to do that but it would have been nice. 🤷‍♂️

Tried to play "Death Stranding" and ... it's just too much. Like, I'm ok with some mystery, but it's like, "Here's 500 weird names we will throw at you with no explanation. Enjoy!" Nope. New I wasn't going to last long when I had to Google how to exit a freaking room.

Switched to "Midnight Suns" and love it so far.

Isn’t this wrong? A PWA loads from service worker cache, and then new data loads using HTTP. A native app works the same. It loads new data using HTTP, so it’s also “web-based”. Why does Ionic single out PWAs when all apps use the same technology to load data from the network? Performance issues caused by a slow network affect all apps equally. It’s not a PWA problem.

I'd love to meet the engineer/PM who decided that a Tiktok embed would a) auto start playing and b) be muted and c) not provide a UI to replay until the video is done.

If I miss -one- second I feel like I can't watch it and need to wait for it to end so I can restart it.

Unless I'm misusing it, node --watch-path foo.html --watch server.js will not properly restart a HTTP server running via server. js when foo.html is edited. That seems to completely break the feature. :\

Having issues searching for this - but has anyone seen a Node module that will:

Given a quantity and noun, determine if they need to be joined with "of", or not. So for example:

I have most cats.
I have mlllions OF cats.
I have few cats.

Honestly typing it out, I could maybe hardcode a few checks for numerical values like that ("hundreds", "thousands", "millions")

Imports question. I'm using a library (https://www.npmjs.com/package/indefinite) where I can do this:

import * as indefinite from 'indefinite';
console.log(indefinite.default('apple'));

The default part 'feels' wrong to me. Is there a better way to import that?

It works though so... deal with it?
