One of the features I really miss from the snu site is multireddits. It would be really handy to have a similar feature available in boost that can aggregate posts from multiple communities into a single feed view.
I’m interested in custom buckets of communities so I can build topic views. All, Local and Subbed aren’t granular enough to do that.
It’s probably a feature Lemmy itself should support on the instance but client side feeds would be nice to have until they get around to adding proper server side multis.
Of the 100 results, only three of them are common enough to be used in everyday conversations; everything else consisted of words and expressions used specifically in the contexts of either gambling or pornography. The longest token, lasting 10.5 Chinese characters, literally means “_free Japanese porn video to watch.” Oops....
I’m doing a blend of Kona from a local store and whole food Kenya. It’s a 70/30 of Kenya to Kona and taste great. The Kona alone I got taste and looks like really dark soil after a brew, so I picked a lite roast to see how it would go and I’m happy....
Just finished the last of a bag of Counter Culture natural sundried Mpemba and I’m back to my standby inoffensive daily blend. The Mpemba was the best bag I’ve had in the last few years, I was put off at first by the figgy/fermented funk when I opened it but damn did it smell good after it was ground. The last creamy berry bomb I had that was this good was a natural process Yirgacheffe but that was more blueberry/blackberry than the strawberry/fig the Mpemba offered. Anyway, it was good stuff and I’m bummed it’s out of stock when I’m looking to order more.

I’m onboard with 65 as the maximum age anyone can run for Congress but I don’t have a problem with people 65+ finishing their terms provided they’re actually competent. I’d like to see mandatory cognitive decline testing for anyone running for Congress, appointed to the SC or appointed to any high position in the executive branch.
It’s absolutely ridiculous that we’re allowing people with 5-7y remaining life expectancy to plan our future 20, 40 or 100y our - they just don’t have the skin in the game that someone in their 20s of 30s does.
On top of all of that I’d like to see vigorous corruption testing, SC justices and congresscreatures shouldn’t be bought and paid for the way they are now.
I’m pretty sure it’s “run as many threads as there are cores” mode, though if you’re running it in a terminal I always find it best to use nproc-1 or -2 so the machine actually stays usable.
How many electoral college votes shift to Idaho along with the meth and Jesus counties? Because that’s always the reason these movements are really funded.
Billionaires and investment companies buying radio, TV and print media outlets, massively consolidating them and then turning all of them into engagement bait, rage bait and propaganda factories is what ruined journalism. Radio, TV and newspaper deregulation in the 80s and 90s was a massive mistake and is the major driver of the breakdown of civil discourse over the last 30y. Which, of course, is good for billionaires and Wall St because it leaves society too dysfunctional to reign in business as usual profit extraction.
Was 25 and super nervous, so when the realtor was like “oh yeah they just check for basic stuff, but I looked around and it looks great” I was like “Oh okay, this is so astronomically expensive every penny saved is good…”...
Uhhhhhh. You paid for a house without getting it inspected? I’m shocked you were able to get homeowners insurance without one.
The entire point of getting an inspection done is to save yourself money. Find someone local who’s thorough and have them go over the house and look for any issues, it’ll be cheaper to fix them now rather than after something fails and there’s major damage.
Yeah, that’s a trap. We signed a letter of intent on one place and had an inspector run through it before we committed to an offer - it’s fortunate that we did too, there was serious water damage to the house that the owners were trying not to disclose.
The shit thing about the market for a couple of years is that properties were marked up by 40-50% over about 5y and many of them had next to no work done, or they got the Lowe’s sale flipper special and looked terrible after.
Both pots were started at the same time from the same batch of strawberry starts. They should have the same soil box. Both grew vigorously last spring/summer and got visited by deer in the fall. Both bounced back pretty well before winter set in. The left pot is very happy, the right… Not so much. I do recall the big pot...
They’re also completely missing the point of distro kernel trees. Stable automatically selects patches from mainline (largely by keyword, and often without kernel developer feedback or involvement) and consequently has a massive amount of code churn and very little validation beyond shipping releases and waiting for regression reports. Distro trees are the buffer where actual testing happens before release. As a long term stable user it really isn’t suitable for end user or enterprise consumption unless you have your own in house validation process to test releases for regressions before deployment. Even running stable on client machines (desktops, laptops) leads to a bad time every few weeks when something sneaks in that breaks functionality.
I just accidentally tapped on my boost for Reddit app because I thought it was boost for Lemmy and it loaded posts. I even managed to like a post and I saw it on the reddit web. Did we miss something?
I think they allowed free API access for all moderator accounts so that mods wouldn’t be locked out of tools they use to mod their communities. Boost hits the API, so if you’re a mod of any community it continues to work.
