Once again breathing 2-stroke exhaust many floors up because we have somehow still not banned leaf blowers.

Chatted with a pharmacist this week about boosters and they can only give them to folks over 65 and immunocompromised… unsure what kind of documentation that requires but province won’t pay for anything other… all the while movie industry folks I follow on social media show that everyone (actors don’t but everyone around them do) on movie sets still have to mask or they lose insurance coverage. So curious why

@grivettcarnac @alex We did an OPH clinic last week. The person showed us the NACI guidance saying we could wait until fall if we weren't in the high-risk groups, but gave us the shots since we were over 6 months.

@ladybugspicnic We ran into each other on the trail. They retreated into the woods and huffed and puffed for a bit, then climbed the tree when another couple of hikers came from the other direction.

Just peeking at the recent wastewater data. It dipped last month, but has been floating a bit higher since then.

Mask up if you're going into indoor spaces that are populated with others. Try to be outside for group events where you can.

@ottaross I am hoping that was not a low point and that we aren't in for another 2023.

@ladybugspicnic I was pretty annoyed that we had the big downpour last weekend, and then the city went and salted everything again on Sunday night.

    david_megginson, to gardening

Last year I started plants from seed indoors without a heat mat, and it typically took a couple of weeks before I saw the first sprouts.

This year I'm using a heat mat, and the time to first sprout has been much shorter:

    • Cherry tomatoes: 4 days
    • Eggplants: 7 days
    • Basil: 3 days

Still waiting on peppers (7 days) and dill (4 days). Other seeds will go in soon.

    shawngettler,
    @shawngettler@mastodon.social avatar

@david_megginson I try to separate them and re-pot when they are a couple inches tall, but that really just defers the cull until I run out of containers planting them outdoors.

So the NDP’s position is we should all subsidize commercial trucking more, transfer the cost of maintaining the one damned toll road in the province away from those causing the most damage… great work climate deniers. https://mastodon.bot/@Trillium/112037992947753013

    shawngettler,

@Auxonic If commercial trucking doesn't think it's worth their while to pay the toll to use the 407, then it's clear that there is absolutely no traffic problem on the 401.

I can't stop thinking about how the urban and inner urban wards are fighting for scraps to retro fit and renew infrastructure. Buying up properties to make pocket parks...
While the new builds just get these things automatically.
