Thinking bout Ed and Stede inviting Izzy to their quarters one night... They sit him down on a chair, they wine and dine him. He's not really sure what's happening, not really sure why Stedeโ€™s eyes are narrowed, why he's sitting a bit more upright than he usually does.
He's not complaining, the food is better than what he usually gets to eat and the wine is strong and sweet.

Ed clears his throat and Izzy's attention snaps to him. "Stedeโ€™s right," he says with a sideways glance at Stede. "if he's okay with it, that is."

With a loose gesture, Stede waves the words away and Ed shrugs, leans towards Izzy.

"I want to watch-" Ed's eyes are fixed on Izzy now, the brown depths sparkling and glinting in the candlelight and Izzy can barely breathe. "-while you fuck him."

Izzy's mind screeches to a halt.

With three glasses in hand, Stede returns to the table. His hand is trembling as he sets them down, pours a generous portion of amber liquid into each of them.

Stede takes a deep gulp of his own glass before pushing the two glasses to the other men.

"Izzy," Stede says, a small smile on his face as he looks at him. "Ed had a request to make of us."

Thing is, Izzy and Stede aren't close. They trained together for a while. Stedeโ€™s becoming somewhat tolerable, between learning to be a bit less of a terrible pirate and the way he makes Ed laugh more often, keeps the bouts of the black moods of violence and cold anger at bay

But Ed asking a favour of both of them - Izzy raises an eyebrow.

"I was wondering if you could do me a favour," he says, and Stede clicks his tongue. "You good, Stede? Ed asks.

In Stedeโ€™s jaw, a muscle is working. "Would anyone like a brandy?" he asks and rises abruptly.

"Stede?" Ed leans away from Izzy. "Stede, you said-"

"I know what I said, give me a moment!" Stede snaps and clinks with a bottle.

Izzy can hear him breathing heavily from across the room, frowns. "Edward, what-"

Hmmm, not exactly? As outlined in this post https://mastodon.online/@lerekofatwgo/111399044898982811 that will also mute the offshoots. Sure, muting users is sort of an option, but it's not ideal, as I most often just want to mute an individual conversation in a thread and still see the rest if the branches/the people elsewhere
Being able to go "no, I don't want my username to be tagged in this specific thread branch" is different
