Account migration seems either absent or broken for Pixelfed.

Usuzakuraya exposes an option for it, but that's the one I'm moving to, not from. Following the same path on pixelfed.social gives me a "Account Migration is not available on this server." message.

@fujiwara That's rough ❤️ Hope things will work out. I had to deliver that news to a family member a little over a year ago and it was a heavy process for everyone involved for sure.

Definitely make sure to take time for yourself to process it too!

Got some light SteamVR apps working with the Framework 16's dGPU via the USB-C port on the back. This might get some use as a light PC VR machine!

Went to Anime Impulse's first run in Seattle! Showed up to rep Ame as per usual.

Not as community driven as Sakura-con but really enjoyed the VTuber meet and seeing Cover in attendance with the M&G and panel with the Holostars EN boys.

I feel like I've picked up a bad habit of looking at my phone during downtime, despite not being a huge fan of phone-centric experiences.

With the Steam Deck generally with me and the laptop available for bigger stuff, I'm going to try to really cut down on looking at my phone outside of commuting. How else will I ever finish all the games/get all my reading done?!

After about a solid two weeks of chipping away at it, I finally finished the quest line in . Can't decide whether it was genius or folly...

It was definitely unusual to have a quest line that was so lengthy and immersive, and some parts of it were wonderful.

But the confusing names, the endless dialogue and the occasional feeling of being completely lost sometimes annoyed...

@davetansley It's a long one that I ultimately enjoyed, but it was rough to pick back up after neglecting it for a long time.

I think that problem has been alleviated with the underground maps, but it's definitely still a lengthy undertaking nonetheless.

A coworker of mine literally had a heart attack and his supervisor came into my office to somehow make the whole situation about herself and how she basically "saved the day" by calling 911. I'm just worried about the guy but I can't get an answer about him from her...

@gamingonlinux For the average consumer? The Steam Deck. While a lot of people may never see desktop mode, I use it extensively at least 3-4 days a week as a daily laptop.

It's not the strongest laptop I could bring, but it's strong enough for every day use. I'm learning to love what Arch Linux and KDE can offer!

The refund for my Framework 13 is complete! It was a pretty easy process from start to finish. It took about 4 days from the laptop's delivery to the "Refund successful" e-mail.

I was also able to do a partial refund, keeping a few of the expansion cards and use them in the Framework 16 instead.

@bluecaller Coming from the Razer Blade Stealth, the Framework 16's keys are slightly mushier than the crisper tactile response I'm used to.

The layout was familiar and didn't require any adjusting They are programmable via QMK which is convenient if you're used to it or don't mind getting technical with it.

Overall, they're very usable in my book; aside from QMK support, there's not much to say from my perspective.

Finally got news the AMD Framework 13 finally got a BIOS update, after some concerns of Framework not supporting their software well. Hopefully this is a good sign that they stand behind their products.

@chikorita157 I got a one-time email about it for my AMD Framework 16 as well, which was refreshing to see. Though brief, it did come with a changelog and as note to reapply one of my changes which will get reset after the update.

I try not to sign up for a billion newsletters (and would prefer RSS for that type of content) but I'm interested in future updates.

I wouldn't go as far as to say I hate Windows, but I (don't) appreciate the reminder that our interests aren't always aligned.

I generally do not look up stocks on a daily basis, and I certainly don't need them on my lockscreen, but they're there now! There doesn't seem to be any obvious setting to turn them off either, sadly.

The option for "Get fun facts, tips, tricks, and more on your lock screen" is already disabled too...

I know we're all excited for ARLECCHINO (and Cyno's Story Quest II) but here's the real update: the limit on enhancement ores is now 99,999 (previously 9,999).

Linux is so refreshing when it works! I'm on the Steam Deck and have a lil' thing for capturing (and optionally saving) screenshots by running a command when I hit a specific hotkey.

Flameshot and Spectacle are cool n' all, but I just have some specific behavior I want that I was able to script up in Bash ezpz.

Did a search on a whim and there's a simple hotkey daemon for Windows that someone's written in Rust. Pulled it down and compiled it and it seems to work at a glance.

Since yesterday, it seems my WordPress stats gone poof as in not viewable for my blog, thinking it's commercial (it’s not, I don’t ask for donations and such on my blog since it's a personal hobby). They are asking $9 a month for me.

I think Automattic is doing something with their detection, which even causes websites that don't fit the criteria for being commercial marked as being commercial.

There are some people complaining about this, which means I'm not the only one. I didn't know Automattic is hurting for money after buying Beeper.

@chikorita157 This is pretty disappointing behavior from Automattic. :bunhdsad:

Offering a free tier always opens you up to people who either skirt the terms or abuse the service altogether which can be frustrating, but this is just burning user trust, imo.

Hope it was worth the hassle (and that people move on to better services)

The Framework 13 arrived and I've also been using it for a little while! It's overall pretty close to a direct replacement of my Razer Blade Stealth (2016) in terms of form and function with a few personally noteworthy differences:

  1. Matte display (yay!)
  2. Configurable I/O (yay!)
  3. More aggressive cooling (overall yay)
  4. No touch screen (aw.)
  5. Substantially worse pixel response time (major bummer.)

Had it not been for the display, I think I'd prefer this over the Framework 16. One thing I cannot do with this is do any gaming with a lot of on-screen motion; it just turns into a giant visual mess. I can't solve this with streaming either because it's an issue with the display, not the APU.

Could be a dealbreaker. :8418_Aqua_cry:

@chikorita157 I was tempted to pick up some XREAL glasses to solve the Steam Deck's screen size problem, but I don't think I'm using it that often haha

I also totally agree about the concept. Much like how I feel like the Steam Deck's biggest contribution was renewing the interest in the handheld PC market, I'm hoping Framework can help demonstrate that more maintainable laptops are technically and commercially viable.
