Holoplus opened its closed beta test for global and I'm in! (It's basically a company-run social media platform dedicated to Hololive prod. content.)
My expectations were pretty low, but exceeded! I don't have a lot of good experiences with niche community platforms for stuff like this, but, everything is super responsive and functioning! It doesn't seem to be completely based on web views that re-layout constantly as things load in.
My test-post w/ a pic of Smol Ame & Phố got a hundred or so likes which is cool (not that I really need the attention haha)
More importantly, the ability to report, hide, and block is available (haven't tested very much; no need to so far!)
It's not Fediverse, but it's small and very friendly for now. Activity is strong, but it just opened, so we'll see if people keep posting in the days to come~
Went to Anime Impulse's first run in Seattle! Showed up to rep Ame as per usual.
Not as community driven as Sakura-con but really enjoyed the VTuber meet and seeing Cover in attendance with the M&G and panel with the Holostars EN boys.
Getting more into #Hololive – I watched 3rd Fes this weekend. One of the highlights was noticing the choreography in Step and Go. Sora pulls off the foot clap when she sings "every day" so casually and smoothly you could almost miss it. Wow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG6yRuj3KkY
Watching a stream from #Fuwamoco recently, I was reminded that I did try Pon de Rings while on my #JapanTrip. Don’t expect the greatest donuts ever but they are undoubtedly pretty good. #hololive
In other whisk-y news, Ina's new cooking outfit is a near-lethal dose of cute. And massive props to whoever submitted this guess, it's beautifully presented. #Hololive
#HololiveFesExpo24 is the first time I've felt there's too few people in the Fediverse sharing an interest. It makes sense: fans want to be where the talents are, and I'm intentionally isolating myself from that place.
Hopefully HoloPlus EN will be a nice-enough alternative when it launches, but I'd rather have discussion on our own terms than another corporation's.
That's going on repeat alongside her Psycho, Drown and Boom. And her Identity with Towa if we count covers too. Bae might just be my favorite, music-wise, from HoloEN. I don't know about overall (if we include the Japanese and Indonesian branches Hololive members), but she's a contender for me, for sure.
