It’s frustrating to live in a world where streaming is the main way to consume music. I found this German band from Berlin called “Von Wegen Lisbeth” because of their son “Wenn du tantzt” which has great music and great text: www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2JRghbgeYw...
Very true, I stopped drinking alcohol when I was around 21 as it is a fucking terrible drug but I will take pretty much anything else bar heroin / opiods if it is on offer. And the only reason I won’t take them is because I know I’ll like them too much and they will ruin my life.
I follow a lot of people on SoundCloud and will listen to different mixes from people I already like which can then introduce me to new tunes and artists via those mixes.
I also follow a lot of people on bandcamp which can help me keep up with their releases but also you can follow different genre tags on there which will then suggest you new and older releases that fall within that genre. You can also browse the genre tag to then get suggestions of artists you may not already be aware of.
Also on bandcamp if you browse a lot of the same genre you will notice users who buy a lot of the same genre as you so I have a few “fans” I follow and I will periodically look through their purchases to find new shit.
The only downside to the genre tags on bandcamp is the artists incorrectly tagging their release so for example I follow dubstep mainly but a lot of people that release this kind of music will use both the dubstep and drum and bass tags for the same releases even if it only actually falls into one of them.
In this same vein you can have a look at the charts on things like Juno or beatport (although personally I can’t stand beatport so will not buy from them) that will list new releases within a genre or list what is selling well (new and old) within that genre.
Finished Three Days to Never by Tim Powers. First half was pretty dense and slow, but second half, when things were getting obvious, and plans finally getting into motion, were very interesting, and was able to read them in just a few days....
This is my introduction to this author and I stumbled across it but I’m really enjoying it so I’ll definitely check that out as well. Thanks for the recommendation!
I remember the first time I listened to this album, mid acid trip standing in the middle of the Australian outback with zero light pollution, staring up at the most amazing night sky you’ll ever see.
The fact the end of the article they use the phrase “the rabbit is looking like a good deal again” for an utter scam device that does not use AI in any real way and is just a bunch of scripts interacting with chatgpt occasionally. The fact they pitch the rabbit as even a viable option, the fact they even mention it in a positive light makes me distrust anything they could write about this.

That isn’t “money down the drains” it is investing and improving in the infrastructure you offer your customers now and for the future. You over charging cunts.
Meh. Same same but different. I’ve had it for a while now and don’t think it is any better or any worse. The thing I dislike the most is that they moved having a “tray” type pop out menu and now you click more in the bottom right.
That never has and still doesn’t sit right with me. The rest, the information is there it looks OK. It is alright.
I’ve seen a number of posts lately like “How to get yadda yadda yadda” but when you click, the content is actually a question about the subject line, which sucks....
