On the ICC warrants for Hamas & Israeli leaders, one line of protest is that “Hamas are autocrats but Bibi is democratically elected.” Um, so what? Whatever you think of Israeli voting choices, only leaders can be held responsible for giving the orders amounting to “Go ahead, slaughter the innocents.” I honestly don’t get it.

@JaneSmith I would shed no tears over the deaths of Hamas fighters or leaders. It’s the tens of thousands of innocents and starving children that are the war crime. There can never be any excuse for that. I think both sets of ICC warrants are highly appropriate.

@jake4good Not gonna shed a tear for any dead Hamasniks, but killing tens of thousands of innocents, starving children etc, those are still war crimes for which there can be no excuse. Both sets of warrants were appropriate.

what’s the best city to spend one month of your life walking around doing nothing much?

@lzg It needs to have some of (a) beach (b) moderate weather (c) excellent food (d) walkability (e) nearby nature (f) safe streets (g) good public transit.

This is why I chose to live in Vancouver, but thinking about Melbourne and Barcelona makes me smile. Surprised nobody mentioned Hong Kong (not now, a few years ago).
