I have many DE’s installed right now and I never encountered any problems because of it, these issues sound really bizarre. With the cinnamon thing it sounds like cinnamon mangles something while running, but you would still have this problem if you only ever installed cinnamon, so… ¯_ (ツ) _/¯

Auch ohne IP blocks wirds Beifang trotzdem geben, egal ob man jetzt sperren lässt oder löschen, eine drohung eines Anwalts und es wird gemacht. Da ist mir eine umgehbare sperre lieber. CSAM wird auch jetzt schon gelöscht, es geht es mir eher um copyright was da verschärft wird.
Aber wenn man statt sperren Löschungen verlangt, ändert das ja nichts daran, es verschlimmert doch nur die Verbote? Immerhin gibt es keine extra Checks, nur weil man jetzt noch härter vorgeht?
Da muss ich widersprechen. Ekelhaftes Zeug wird wie du schon erwähnst eh schon gelöscht, also geht es jetzt nur um Dinge die der Betreiber der Website weniger schlimm findet, aka copyright. Sowas wie Kinderpornos als Grund angeben finde ich auch nicht korrekt, denn da ist fast überall der Besitz und Verbreitung eh schon höchst Illegal, also würde diese Verordnung nichts daran ändern. Mit dem Ende von Geoblocking werden also meiner Meinung nach nur DMCA’s gestärkt.
Ausserdem glaube ich nicht, dass der Betreiber der Website viel differenzierter agiert wie Europäische Gerichte, weil wenn der eine Anwaltsdrohung kriegt, wird er nicht lange rumzanken, ausser natürlich er ist außerhalb Europäischen Rechtsbereich, womit sperren wieder geeigneter wären.
Weiters sind prophylaktische Sperrungen auch nicht so häufig. Das muss noch immer durch die 9 Kreise der Bürokratie durch bevor etwas passiert. Ob am Ende des Bürokratischen Prozesses geblockt oder gesperrt wird macht da glaube ich keinen Unterschied mehr. Und wie gesagt, Dinge wie die linksunten Takedowns werden noch immer passieren.

IzzyOnDroid gets their packages by searching for Apks on github in a semi-automated manner and does basically no filtering on its own, so there may be low quality or malicious apps on there.
mpv can do all of these things, check the manual on how to do this: mpv.io/manual/stable/
mpv also exists for android, however the controls are a bit different (because touch controls) and im not sure if you can do all of these things without a keyboard.

I am sceptical of the idea. If every post had a specific license, it would be a minefield to federate or host, because every post could potentially forbid sharing it, or have other stipulations.
Most posts and comments are not copyrightable anyway. A few sentences are not enough to count as a “creative work”. It would need to be your entire posting history, and even then its dubious if that counts as one work.
I propose instead that we do it like wikipedia and others, and that the server as a whole has a license.

A license that reatricts use would be a “source-availible” license aka corporate bs “work for me for free” licenses.
Also, with strong copyleft licenses, businesses must give back, namely when expanding the program. I think thats what many programmers like about open-source and free software. And yeah, a free software license is a precondition to bazaar style development.
