    Damn it – for the second time in four months, Gail Simone has got me shedding real tears in a coffee shop. First time was Variants (the Jessica Jones limited series); I read that in a new-to-me place in Minneapolis. Today, at one of my locals, it was Clean Room (Volume 3 in particular).

    Back on my bullshit at Crescent Moon .

    A still life photo coffee shop drink called the Howl (brown sugar cold brew with taro cold foam). The drink is served in a pint glass which sits on a plain white table next to an exposed brick wall. In the glass, the purple-tinged cold foam has begun to sink into the cold brew, giving the appearance of cave-like stalactite formations. Behind the drink is a small table lamp with a weighted pull-chain switch. Next to the lamp, in partial view, is a green canvas messenger bag. An emergency exit door is in visible, slightly out of focus, with a sign that reads, "No alcoholic beverages past this point."
