I'm doing an unusual money saving exercise this month: using cash and limiting my food budget to $10 a day. Sounds easy in theory.
I'm saving hard all month because an American friend is coming to stay with me in June and I want to give her a good time.

wpgne,

@KiwiEV I'll trade you some purple fifties for purple tens, to make the savings and payment process easier...

wpgne,

@KiwiEV she might be questioning whether you'll be able to stick to your 10$ per day food budget

This has been a learning experience. Apparently, in Spain the letter "C" on the tap doesn't mean Cold, it actually means "Christ that's hot!"
Though I'm not sure what the "F" stands for. Freezing, I assume?

wpgne,

@KiwiEV and if you go one country to the east... Hot is Chaud and Cold is Froid, so it works across borders. Red and Blue colour codes would be the more universal application.

Have signed the petition to investigate #Loblaws for their absurd price increases on food via Change.org:
https://chng.it/BLDMrDf8FC
Due to consolidation in the Canadian grocery market in the past few decades, too much power is in the hands of a few large corporations and they are putting profit and shareholder dividends ahead of providing the basic needs of customers who have struggled to afford a basic human right: food.
I will also avoid visiting all Loblaws-owned outlets in the month of May.

One additional lingering point in my mind on this topic makes me think of the historic actions taken by rogue governments in which they squeeze and attempt to nefariously control their populations through artificial scarcity and potentially resulting famine. I certainly hope that's not going to be an unconscious outcome of the actions of a corporation like #Loblaws (or #EmpireLtd , for that matter [with that ominous corporate name rather concerning in itself]). #BoycottLoblaws

This example relating to the #SeanCombs "situation" is a great breakdown of how ridiculous, overly broad Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) are used to keep people silent.
Especially find the lengths of times included laughable. Surprised neither Jesse or David mentioned how the specific times quoted from an actual 2022 NDA are the same as some #copyright terms have (illegitimately) expanded to.

wpgne,

There was so much riding on those NDAs ... didn't think he could ever be stopped/touched:

He has a similar mindset to someone that goes by the initials DJT (and was an acquaintance/friend of his, too).
He thought bribery and/or extortion would work to his advantage. But, someone who needs to go to those lengths obviously is covering for their actions.
Sean thinks he's a "savage"? Just wait and see what's in store for him... in 2024, and beyond...

Have now watched the (slightly overproduced) presentation "The Downfall Of ", available on Tubi:
https://tubitv.com/movies/100020628/tmz-presents-the-downfall-of-diddy
Wasn't too, too much new information (from my perspective) in it, but some of the video footage added a bit more to the picture for me.
Aubrey O'Day's comments around the 42-43 minute mark can be empowering for other victims.
Wonder if there will be a book coming out on him at all like what Jim DeRogatis wrote on Robert Kelly.

Why is trending on the other place?

wpgne,

@mdonkin a nickname for a former U.S. president that's now become widely known after being mentioned in the court public record by the defence counsel

Never visit the Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London, because it will ruin many films for you. That's definitely not downtown Paris.

Well... I had a whilst half awake this morning. It was just a single image of him next to a small paragraph of text. In the photo, we see Justin looking to his right from the collar, up, as he's wearing a peach-coloured pull over hoodie. Justin is nearly freshly shaven as he has, what I would term to be a confidently-confused expression on his face, where his mouth is slightly open with his teeth clenched together. He stands in front of a beige-coloured wall, while on the move...

wpgne, (edited )

The text besides the image states something along the lines of Justin needing to travel to New York, to appear in front of a grand jury, which is being assembled to consider evidence for possible indictment of Sean Combs, et al, -- all part of a Southern District of New York (SDNY) investigation.
Quite an interesting , that's for sure.

Awoken from a .
Thankfully, soon realised it would be impossible for such a scenario to occur, yet the experience lingers.

Woken up from another at around the same time as yesterday's. This one was much more mild, and actually somewhat humourous after the fact. It is indeed a , this time, unlike twenty-four hours ago. Basically, I had come to Australia and imported my car for the visit. Quite impractical, possibly even not permitted to have a left-side driving vehicle on Australian roads, but it was allowed in this vision.

wpgne, (edited )

The vision had me at an indoor pool where Codes had just finished up some in-water training for the day, and we were about to leave. He was wearing this very dark electric green swim brief, that had a bright white solid square logo on the right leg. After he towelled off, we left as I grabbed his black gearpack. We headed out of the pool on a clear day, meeting up with another mate of his. We then walked over to a nearby McDonald's (or Macca's, as they are referred to there).

wpgne, (edited )

For some reason, I had parked my car there, and Cody's mate really wanted to check it out, as he had never seen a car such as mine (nor had many, really). They both ran out in front, going up a small yet steep incline before descending towards where the car was. They both reached it before I did. However, I soon realised it was now a different car -- it had transformed into a black 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door hardtop, somehow, but was still a vehicle from North America, that belonged to me.

wpgne,

As I was still a bit behind the two "front runners", I watched Cody's mate open the driver's door and reach inside. For some reason, he put the car in neutral, and it easily started to roll down another decline forward of where it was parked. It picked up speed quickly, then shallowly flew into the air briefly, above one residential property, before returning to the earth in the backyard of the next, with a loud crash. I thought to myself: why did I bring my car here?!

wpgne, (edited )

Ah... According to the Queensland state website: as an overseas registered vehicle, I could bring a left hand drive into Australia for a certain period, without too, too much hassle. Would need to get everything squared away first, though.
https://www.qld.gov.au/transport/registration/register/overseas
Cool to know, at the very least.

Got my first-ever ink today. Thought having at least one of their hourglass shaped bottles would be a nice addition to the collection. Read the image description for more details on the bottle and it's function.
This ink is named "Shocking Blue (#5)", after the Dutch rock band of the same name, which had a few hits, including "Venus". Also a first getting an ink named after a music group, so it added to the appeal. It is a nice deep blue with some red sheen.

wpgne,

@toga surprising since they're right across the sea from the UK
