Well, @CodySimpson has (in a very timely manner) come through to fill us in some more on his training regimen/routine via an article from Australian body+soul, available to read here:
https://www.bodyandsoul.com.au/wellness/cody-simpson-ive-never-worked-this-hard-this-consistently-in-my-life-for-anything/news-story/0109b17aed51dcf8158f6460ad131455?nk=487a836013cfdddf577864bb11faa770-1710097060

Cody makes lots of good points and comparisons to what he's going through right now to past events, most notably how his time on Broadway was the closest in terms of effort required.

And, he's got "Sleep Sound with Cody Simpson" coming out in a few days, too:

Just so happens I had another vivid (nighttime) recently. It certainly didn't have the persistence of the one a while back where he details that plan he put together, and wanted my opinion on it. But, this latest one did also occur in that same Ford Falcon Wagon after a crazy day of surfing he got in, all before a powerful storm came. The two of us ended up getting stuck in that Falcon Wagon for a while, as we rode out the driving rains and winds outside.

Had 10 cm snow on the 10th, as it's now past midnight on the 11th. Officially @CodySimpson 's bday here. Wonder what he'll be up to. Hopefully Emma is back from her trip to Sydney. No wonder Codes could work on his music -- the house was empty lol. Really enjoyed his recording sessions. Super into "Kirra"... Terrific melody and lyrics that have stayed with me, even in just that demo form. Imagine what it might be like with even a little more added. Or maybe, just leave it like it is.

wpgne,

There was no "Baker Street" played at our game last night, but I did get to chat with that timekeeper for a few minutes to learn he works games for three of our league teams, with the Jets being his primary responsibility. He's also training some next generation timekeepers to "carry on" from the "old ones". As for our game... Our final game of this "tough" season...

wpgne,

We got off to a nice start, with two early goals. However, things seemingly went down hill from there as we were outplayed, outshot, and outscored as the finale dragged on. There was one long stretch of even strength puck cycling in our end that felt like a never-ending penalty kill. However, we managed to pull back into a regulation tie, thanks to an eventual hat trick (three goals in a single game) by our .

wpgne,

The game ended up going the distance into a shootout. Prior to the best-of-three shooters starting, I heard our coach mention who would shoot fifth, if it got that far. It ended up being that very fifth shooter whom won it for us, letting us finish the season off with a win. Who was fifth to shoot? If you didn't already look it up, I'll tell you: it was, once again, our mixologist from "Down Under", who's considering a visit to Europe this summer, as he explained before yesterday's game.

wpgne,

We all gathered in the dressing room after the game to talk and each of us said a few words to everyone about the season that was, and the potential that awaits in the fall. There was a lot of positivity there, and it should be interesting to see how it all comes together in September.

wpgne,

For now, I've got lots of washing to do back in our room. Probably will get it all done over the course of a day or two at the end of the week. 2023-2024 is in the books.

wpgne,

Managed to get one-third to two-fifths of the washing completed today. Will return on Monday and possibly Tuesday to get the rest done. The arena will be closing for the season next weekend, with no further bookings after then. If we were in the playoffs, they'd keep it open just for us, for as long as we could take it.

wpgne, to Hockey

We have our final home game of the season coming up tonight as this rough year nears its conclusion next week with two away games. Will be interesting to see what happens at the one on Sunday -- or even if it might get postponed due to a possible major winter storm that could impact us then. Probably not, but too early to tell right now. Whenever it ends up happening, it'll be against two of our former top players, so is very much anticipated.

wpgne,

Looks like today's game will proceed as scheduled. We've had just a trace of snow and a little freezing rain. Further west and north of here, it's a different story.

wpgne,

Found a thin, patchy layer of freezing rain/drizzle on my vehicle after the game. Roads were just damp for the most part, so we've been spared the worst of the .
As for our game: we opened the scoring -- getting one by our former goaltender and had a good first period. Although, the situation deteriorated in the second period and we could never quite come back with the same level of play. Our Gold Coast visitor broke his spare stick out of frustration. He said he didn't like it anyways.

wpgne,

Also found someone's debit card laying in the parking lot when I was bringing my first five items to pack into my vehicle. Brought it inside to the canteen, in case anyone asked about it.

v2.1.2 of the simulator has released.

Fixes an intermittent issue with the stats screen causing the "black screen of death"

https://github.com/Forceh91/retro-env-can-weather-chan/releases/tag/v2.1.2

wpgne,

@ecweatherchannel good to hear you have got that sorted

wpgne,

@forceh91 was there a commonality between the instances of it going black -- was it always happening if it was on the stats page?

wpgne,

@forceh91 but it wasn't an issue on the Toronto stream?

I've setup @forceh91's retro Environment Canada weather page simulator.

Easy and fun. Looks like it will be pretty easy to integrate weewx data from the weather station.

@johnefrancis @forceh91 very cool that you got an instance of it running, John. Being able to integrate your own PWS data is another cool path the project can take
