I wrote an article about the 3 games and just how good they are. Imo, they're extremely underrated. I really wanna play more games similar to it but I can't find much in the way of isometric collectathons(?) at all. Looking for any suggestions. Apologies if this isn't the right spot. GBA is retro right?...
That looks cool. Not what I'm looking for but interesting. Reminds me a bit of the MegamanEXE games.
Collectathons are just games (usually platformers) where you collect a bunch of stuff. Spyro you got the items in each level, gems, chests, sidequests (that give you items) and so on. There's a lot of stuff to collect. Banjo Kazooie is another collectathon.
Man, I've never actually used Mobygames aside from seeing it in Google search once in a while. Didn't know you could do those kinds of searches. Way better than trying to trawl through IGDB. Gonna check this out. Thanks! I already see a few that definitely fit the bill (and all GBA too!)
Alone: The Horror Begins is allegedly (more on that later) a J2ME game developed by Centrescore, a company I can barely find any information about. This company is hard to track down. After scouring their old website I still can't figure out where they were even located. I guess somewhere in the U.S.A. but even then all the info...
Thanks for the information! You wouldn't happen to have a copy of the game would you (JAR or BAR files)? Or at least know if Alone was a BREW or J2ME game? Either way I'm going to update the article with this new information. It really seems like Centrescore had a lot of cool games, though nearly all of which of lost now.
I'm also going to reach out to Andy Weir and see if he somehow has a copy. Either way thanks for the tip.
And now that I know the game was actually released I'm way more confident it can be found!
Exactly. It's like a sport to them, though they take it even more seriously than sportsfan, replying to everything with a sense of urgency, like it's just one step away from total anarchy.
I've been surprised by the political discussions here. Far more civil and not as vitriolic as Reddit's political subs. Even with disagreements.
The project has been in the works for a while. About a year ago it seems several YouTube videos were released covering it. Here is one by T0nik. I was pleasantly surprised to see it is being worked on....
It will focus on total conversions of the main games. So Miami, Frontier, that mod that's set in Oregon, the Russian one for Fallout 2 (can't remember the name ATM), London, the Van Buren Remake, etc. I've never heard of Fallout 3 in OpenMW but I'll be including that now. That sounds neat.
Problem is I made this list awhile ago and never checked if the projects were active or not. I'll be checking that. But its gonna be anything I've seen that I though looked cool, no matter inactivity or how early in development.
I'll even throw in a mention of similar games like Ashes 2063.
I have a list going. There's about 15 major fallout fangame projects right now. I've considered writing an article because there's so many. Hell Fallout: Vault 13 is another one that got some buzz about 2 weeks ago.

Anyone know any games similar to the Spyro GBA ones? Isometric collectathons? I need more like this.
