Facni,

Maybe it's time for Kbin and Mbin to be a single project, in the end they are the same thing, just that Mbin has more people actively working on it, so they are faster with pull requests. There is no big philosophical problem, just a maintenance one.

Facni,

Cripto AI Bros.

Facni,

Well, they find themselves in a delicate situation with the US publishing and recording industry associations. It could be one of their resources to keep the library alive by scaring users with the possibility that it will cease to exist due to malicious entities and their advanced techniques, which as I said is not so far from reality

Facni,

Theoretically yes, but in practice it is a different case. I have hope.

Building a brand new machine and leaving Windows for good

I’m sick of Windows, and especially what it’s become, and the way its trending looks like it will only get worse. I’ll be building a brand new PC this summer and want to choose a Linux Distro instead. In preparation, I’d like to try out a virtual machine with a Linux distribution. I am solidly familiar with Ubuntu, but I...

Facni,

Yes, SteamOS is arch based, but the games run over steam runtime (wich is debian based) that's why the steam-native package exists. I use endeavour btw.

Facni,

Mint is amazing, but it isn't the best gaming experience.

Do you use Excalidraw, Canvas, both or neither?

After the release of JSON Canvas, I was curious how people handle whiteboarding and graphical notes in Obsidian. Personally, I only use Excalidraw because I was already a user of its web version and because of its support for md and iframes, although I don't like how it handles embedded notes, everything else is easily corrected...

Facni,

In my brain, the rendering engine would be a module too.

Facni,

Local translation is amazing, they just need to polish the settings.

Is anyone using the Obsidian Git plugin or another git solution to sync with Android? If so, How did you get it to work?

I've tried both, Obsidian Git and Termux (I need to try the last one without the git plugin in my mobile vault) but no matter what I always got merging problems (That I don't know how to fix). Does anyone know how to fix this? Does Termux support merging?

Facni, (edited )

Syncthing is fine but battery drain

I used to use it, but my phone model isn't famous because of it battery, sadly.

Remotely-save with S3 (minio or the like) seems pretty good so far.

LiveSyn can use S3 too insead of Couchdb but I will give a look to remotely-save.

Facni,

Can it merge files in conflict?

Facni, (edited )

I have been rethinking about what you said. But, I have some questions:
Do LiveSync handles version control (Like Obsidian-Git or the official sync)?
If not, Do you use or know about a compatible tool or something?

Could I use Git for backups and version control (In one device) and LiveSync for synching with my other devices?
(I know you said,
> but ok with not having git

But I still wonder if there is a way to do it. Where do they fail working togheter? )

EDIT:
Can we use github plugin to backup our vault along with livesync plugin? #232

Facni,

Noted

Facni, (edited )

I've tried it, but it wasn't what I need. I still love FOSS anyway.

Facni, (edited )

I've been watching it since it launch, but Git version control and hosting is better for my use case.

Facni, (edited )

I don't agree, I think the current system is almost perfect, it just has one problem that confuses people, the number of notifications should not be a separate button, it should be part of the user button. Like the next example:
