I'm sick rn (just a cold) and it's driving me crazy. I hate how you just have to pass time and wait to feel better, I wish there was something active I could do to speed it up.
@aebrer I struggle with that too, mostly during the worst of winter, and I often get pretty wiped out. I hope you get well soon. There are a few active things I do to speed up the process. Lots of sleep of course. I drink tea constantly, mainly honey lemon throat comfort tea by Yogi Teas, and I use a neti pot twice a day. I cook big batches of congee, with white rice in lots of water (10:1, 40 minutes), scallions, carrots, mushrooms, eggs, and lots of black pepper, oil, sauces, chicken bouillon.
Aside from work, I'm following all the accounts I followed at genart.social. This means that over time as I subscribe to more artists our microblog section is going to get more populated! Taking it slow because it's all manual for now and I've only made it through ~160 / 629
@loosenut well, in my case at least it's because I'm more active here (kbin) 😆
I have felt like a lot of "our crowd" has been picking up twitter again, but whenever I open that app it just reaffirms how much I don't like the experience. The noise and the ads, the sheer number of people who can like and retweet vs a totally empty comment section... it just didn't feel good to me
I think I got it! Just need to wait for the federated posts to start showing up! I chose #genart, #genartclub, #GenerativeArt, and #creativecoding to start with. If you have any other suggestions let me know and I'll add them in!
So it turns out the only thing that kept me coming back to Reddit was the formatting. I just like these karma based discussion threads. This is my favorite way to discover content on the web... But the format here suits me just fine.
Can't wait for kbin apps!
Also would love to be able to port my masto account to kbin in a way that brings my followers over.
