Revisiting my most recent #generativeart system. I found an interesting part of the parameter space that looks a bit 3D to me (lighter layers on top of darker layers). #Rtistry
In Flanders Fields, the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
A lot of Generative artists, like myself, have struggled with the whole hype taking over the term.
Some folks have suggested "Procedural" and just completely dropping the term "Generative". Which saddens me so much, and it doesn't really speak to me somehow.
Right now, I'm leaning toward "Iterative" for my art. It works for both my code-created pieces and my hand drawn pieces...well, it works in my brain. :)
Playing with inspiration from a fading flower. Turning my observation into an abstraction and then thinking abut how these patterns might fit into a diagram structure.
Playing with aurora pink for today's drawing. I didn't get to see it in last night's sky, here in San Francisco, sadly. I could have sworn there was a slightly pink tint to the sky, but it was probably just wishful thinking.
