Goddam it, is this what did it? I'm seventy-five years old for Chrissakes!

Am American. Used to have to get those eggs out from under the chickens who wanted to sit on them and get the shit pecked out of me before school everyday.

The end of workplace loyalty: Why work feels so broken right now — and how it can be repaired (www.businessinsider.com)

In the two years I've been writing about Americans' changing relationship to work, there's one theme that's come up over and over again: loyalty. Whether my stories are about quiet quitting, or job-hopping, or leveraging a job offer from a competitor to force your boss to give you a raise, readers seem to divide into two groups....

I knew it would happen again the other month, when I was reporting on white-collar workers who secretly juggle multiple full-time jobs. Overemployment, as the phenomenon is known, violates society's implicit norms of loyalty to one's employer more flagrantly than anything else I've encountered. But when I asked these overemployed professionals whether they felt bad that they were essentially cheating on their bosses...

What the fucking fuck? This guy actually articulated this thought as if it were rational?

Am I living in Crazyworld?

Narrator: He was.

Aren't they also losing customers? I don't buy shit anymore. Won't a lot of places eventually drive themselves out of business? A smaller, captive customer base with the wealth to choose differently if they feel like it. The vast majority just doing without whatever isn't crucial.

Right, and when all we buy is food, many, many other businesses go poof. I'm not saying food isn't expensive. I'm saying that's all I buy anymore.

There are multiple ways for Shadowheart to go during that scene, depending on how you have been interacting with her up to that point. I'm on a 'good' run, and I have maxed out her affinity. I didn't have to roll any dice. I only had to do something that is pretty obvious, if the choice is there. I guess if you haven't been going that route, convincing her not to kill said personage is quite hard.

I think Seldarine Drow Battlemaster focusing on Archery. I have gotten exhausted keeping up with all the magic, so at least my character won't have any.

You get a little abuse for being a Drow in the Grove in the Early Access. But I want all the extra bits of dialogue I can get so I'll take a little abuse.

There are more voices datamined and I believe I heard one of the attendees of the last Panel from Hell to say there are two further choices for voices in the full game. I have consumed so much BG3 media in the last month that I won't be able to find that, though, so take that as a 'maybe.'

(Was it Wolfheart? It might have been Wolfheart...)

Human Creation in Buldur's Gate 3

I plan on playing/creating a human in BG3. And I have been reading that they will not get the +1 to all stats like in 5e, but a +2, +1 to any stat--like all the other races. I don't know if this has been confirmed or not. Seems unfair for the humans. They don't have special vision, or other perks the non humans get at creation....

You may already know the answer now, but it's recently been (almost) confirmed that Humans get the floating +2 +1 that everyone else gets, while also getting proficiency in light armor and polearms, along with a +20 lb carrying capacity.

There has been a fairly loud outcry, however, so this may change.

I wrote a short goodbye post on Reddit as we enter the last hours of Apollo. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the support over the years, it’s truly been the journey and dream of a lifetime building this app and meeting so many people. 🥰💙 https://reddit.com/r/apolloapp/comments/14nb5qs/today_is_apollo_for_reddits_last_day_and_i_just/

@christianselig Much love, @christianselig Without Apollo or old.reddit I have no interest in returning to Reddit anymore. End of an era for me. Thanks for all your hard work!

I think that you are missing how people have a variety of capabilities and intelligence. I would pose you this theoretical to ponder. You have a maze, and six rats. Of the six, one finds the exit with ease, while the other five struggle and don't find the exit. Yay for the smart, efficient rat!

What are you going to do with the other five? Maybe some of them can learn the maze, but is there any utility in this now? Will you, knowing their deficiencies, throw them back into the maze over and over until they learn it? Some of them never will. Is this not a cruelty to them? What benefit do you derive from doing that?

Beware this feeling: "I worked hard and I made it, while these fuckers dicked around. They don't deserve anything." That thought is entirely focused on yourself, and does nothing but cause suffering in others. What do you wish to do about the others, leaving your own feelings out of it. What is best for society? You know they are not as efficient and hard working as you are, but you really do not know why this is the case. What will you do about that?

Those are the useful questions. Feelings of self righteousness help no one. They harm even you.
