And why are they migrating, I wonder. If only there were reasons other than purely economic ones, like war, lack of stability, extreme droughts and other fucked up things we tend to think of while considering third world countries - many of them destabilized forever by the western nations.

You know, I'm living in Poland and we have a pretty fucking big populace of foreigners and the most rapes and murders are statistically commited by polish males. By percent.
Man, the one and only reason humanity is a thing so different than the others is because we have a natural tendency towards helping out each other and cooperate in ways not observed amongst other species. Empathy and benevolence are inherently human traits and it's what made our society rise above in the first place.
But some people are assholes and you're a great example of that.

How exactly can I follow communities from other 'spaces' in the fediverse? I'm trying to follow the bisexual community on lemmy.world and it says to copy/paste !bisexual in the search bar of whatever you're using, but that comes up with nothing here.
@rasterweb I never had Twitter, jumped onto the Mastodon ship when I had a chance and didn't regret it. But then I tried Twitter and holy balls it's such a toxic place to be it makes me question the very popularity of that site.
But then, it's all about strong (and negative) emotions, so perhaps that's where it's success lies. People are just either assholes, or masochistic. Sometimes both.
I generally use "anarchist" to describe my political philosophy. I'm pretty sure I'm using it correctly, but I'm not certain. I haven't had much contact with other "anarchists", just a bit of exposure through history and such....
To start things off, I identify myself as an anarchist, anarcho-daoist to be exact. But I do believe, that it's a philosophical branch so varied and personal every single one of us is free to hand-pick certain memes and apply it to one's life. So to me, everyone has their own "anarchism". They are all perfectly valid to me, as long as they are based on individualism and the lack of authority. And I think that's the key. Being your own person and setting your own rules, bars and things to follow. But also respecting the very individualism of the others.
Also, I do think that modern anarchist activism has more to do with actively challenging the system and giving it a hard time, rather than building a system from the ground up.
