Always important to double check what amenities are available especially if there is water and electrical hookups present.
There are many state owned campgrounds around me that charge marginal fees but 98% of them do not have water/electric hookups.
So make sure you are going to a campground that checks all the boxes in what you are looking for.
Yes, that is a good point. Many state park campgrounds are remote enough that providing RV hookups and dump stations is too expensive. They may have large enough spaces and a low prices compared to commercial RV parks and campgrounds, but there's always a tradeoff.
