Advice from a campground employee

Hey there, Kbin campers! I'm a service aide at a California State Park campground, and here is some advice that I give a lot of my visitors:

  • There is no wifi or cellular service at the campground.
  • Please read the campground rules that you sign when you check in. You must obey them to avoid receiving a citation or being ejected from the campground.
  • Please do not leave your campfires unattended! Remember, if it's too hot to touch, it's too hot to leave.
  • Plan on purchasing equipment and supplies before leaving for your campground. Don't assume that supplies will be available once you arrive.
  • Make sure to have a good time and enjoy your campout!

All good tips!
Always important to double check what amenities are available especially if there is water and electrical hookups present.
There are many state owned campgrounds around me that charge marginal fees but 98% of them do not have water/electric hookups.

So make sure you are going to a campground that checks all the boxes in what you are looking for.

Yes, that is a good point. Many state park campgrounds are remote enough that providing RV hookups and dump stations is too expensive. They may have large enough spaces and a low prices compared to commercial RV parks and campgrounds, but there's always a tradeoff.
