I think the news about #Disney essentially "reinventing" cable channels again into their streaming service, #DisneyPlus is pretty hilarious, though I'm not exactly surprised by that since I too honestly have been wanting such a feature on #Plex or #Jellyfin for really long time.
The idea is, you could still watch things on demand, unlike cable channels of old, but you could also just tune in to a channel and be "served" different things to watch by episode, or by movie, based on what is available. That'd be perfect when you just want to leave the TV on and have it play random stuffs all day.

I think it should be doable as a Jellyfin plugin, but as of now I have zero experience with that.
@mforester I don't either, and wasn't even aware of the existence of plugins for Jellyfin - that sounds neat! My setup is still reliant on Plex atm, but I have been looking to migrate/experiment with Jellyfin for a while.
@irfan I've been using Jellyfin for a few years now and I'm really happy with it.
I've seen some complaints that people are missing features compared to Plex, but I honestly don't know what.
As a pure streaming server it's working great. Movie and TV Show matching is solid, information and art is scraped and downloaded, multiple languages and subtitles work. That's all I need. 🙂
