The friendship of a dog is different from that of a human, but we can learn from them:
They're steadfast in the relationship, loyal, non-judgmental, and always ready to go out and do something fun. If we're not in the mood, they stay close by and simply grace us with their companionship.
The 10-12 years we have with them are memorable for us; I hope they are for them as well.
