sheepchase, Those outside of the Europe can vote now for the participants of the #Eurovision second semifinal.
#Israel’s entry by Eden Golan was denied twice because the lyrics were deemed too political, referencing the October 7th Supernova dance massacre committed by Hamas. Finally a version was accepted. I think the song stands well on its own but if you know the background it’s much more meaningful. I think the choreography of the dancers (some of which is included in the live stage version) is powerful.

A reminder that it was Hamas and associated terrorist groups that started the war on October 7th (bizarrely a lot of media seems to imply now that Israel started it). We know this because Hamas recorded and live-streamed much of their attack themselves: https://www.october7thattack.com/ (Warning: Graphic footage)

The Eurovision Grand Final is this weekend. I’m expecting Switzerland to win but I hope to see Israel perform.
