Got the little 80’s living room scene built on my #Atari2600 #LEGO Build tonight. It’s so “awesome” I can barely stand it. Love the little dude’s haircut, the CRT TV and the little kitty watching him play! 😂

Been more than a year since I’ve worked on my build but today I’m back at it and I wanted to share how the console switch panel is constructed. This entire thing is wonderful but these little realistic details really make it for me. Neat! 😄

Showing off a long strip of LEGO’s that form the switch plate of the Atari 2600 LEGO build complete with labels and working switches.

Attaching the switch plate to the console. This was extremely satisfying. 🥰👍

Putting the long rectangular switch plate into position in the body of the 2600 LEGO console.

@gedeonm Too cool. I’ve been restoring 2600s lately, 4 switch as well as 6. Love those details.

I am nearing the end of my build and I’m both delighted and sad. Putting this thing together has been sheer joy. Working on the Joystick today. It’s not 1:1 scale with the original which by my estimation just makes it even more adorable. 🕹️🤓🥰

After over a year of on and off building I’ve finally finished my set. Of all the LEGOs I’ve built (and there have been a LOT) this was one of my most favorite. Perhaps second only to my pixel Iron Man mural. Boy, that one was SO MUCH FUN.

The nostalgia and detail in the ATARI set was top notch and it brought me so much joy. Highly recommended. I have my eye on the Pac Man arcade machine next perhaps. 🕹️👾

@gedeonm That Ironman one is amazing.

@gedeonm I’m currently building out The Big Wave has a nice group podcast that goes along with it detailing the career and motivations of Hokusai. The base parts are the tiniest bit warped though >_<

gedeonm,
@gedeonm@mastodon.social avatar

@shadowbottle oh wow that sounds awesome. Taking any pictures?

shadowbottle,
@shadowbottle@mastodon.social avatar

@gedeonm here’s the six panels assembled. Great Wave is actually quite 3D so this is very much still the base, which is not quite complete. It also has a fairly wide frame that once built it will clip inside of.

@shadowbottle very cool!!

@gedeonm last couple big builds would be BTTF DeLorean and Ecto-1.

@gedeonm not this round, I slid start though. It’s been tough, just trying to fit some in when I can find time between work and caring for an 8 month old lol

@gedeonm Ha! I was just going to suggest Pac-Man. Buy it and you’d probably have it built by, ooh, 2027. :D

@gedeonm Amazing. One day I will get that kit. Today I'm building the Mustang Dark Horse.

@jnv Nice!

@gedeonm bastard, that’s a fine Iron Man! I purchased 1 Sith with the intention of buying 2 or 3 more to do the long Vader but waited too long ;_;

mer,

@gedeonm where did you get that Eagle?? Is that a Lego MOC? I just started watching Space 1999 again and was thinking of building a Lego Eagle.

gedeonm,
@gedeonm@mastodon.social avatar

@mer No, it’s a 9” die cast I got years ago. It’s awesome but prob can’t get it now. https://shop.gerryanderson.com/en-us has offered some incredible Eagle replicas though. Might wanna keep an eye out there.

@gedeonm I heard they went with the Atari because they couldn’t figure out how to do the paddles (;

craiggrannell,
@craiggrannell@mastodon.social avatar

@gedeonm That is a very long assembly period!
