susurros,

A few photos from today's march marking nine years since 43 students from Ayotzinapa were disappeared by the state and organized crime in Iguala, Guerrero.

The march itself was massive and ideologically diverse. Full of rage, grief, and raw energy. At the same time, it was predictably restrained, despite the huge numbers and lack of police presence. That being said, it was great seeing a solid black bloc crew in action. Most surfaces that could be painted were. Perhaps the most inspiring aspect was the presence of normal school students from around the country showing up by the busload to militantly demand truth and justice for their disappeared compañeros.

Ultimately, we only marched for a couple hours and bailed before reaching the Zócalo. Bringing a ten month old to a megamarch turned out to be not the greatest parenting decision ever made. But at least he went to his first demo!
