@OGjester It always makes me sad. The wave swept down from Canada, in a lot of cases and spread throughout the midwest. Places people now wouldn't believe. We could have had nice things. 😞 For the curious, Thomas Frank writes extensively about that history.
@veirling@OGjester I live in Butte, the self-proclaimed “Gibraltar of unionism” in the Western U.S. To study the history of this town is to study the bedrock of the early 20th-century socialist movement, with strong ties to the broader world-wide movement. The IWW was (and some say still is) very active here. Frank Little was murdered here; there’s a gathering at his grave every year to this day.
