i went and searched for a community on Lemmy. Found it, but was logged out so I couldn't create content... tried to login, it says "logged in" in the lower left, but I'm not as it still says "login" at the top right....
We have some hops that are starting to go a little rogue that were planted at the edge of our berry garden. Unfortunately they are starting to crowd out our berries and we want to remove the hops....
I'm all for coming into the office, but I'm no longer commuting on my own dime. You want me in the office, for some messed up reason, my commute is on the clock.
I've tried using the firefox shortcut on my phone, and it's less than great (imho). I can't type replies, it goes all janky, freezes up, won't go back to the home page, etc. Virtually unuseable.
I've been wondering about this, in particular in a covid, wfh, world. So many people from traditionally liberal areas (SF/NY/LA) moved to red states, I would assume that it would be assist in turning those states more purple, as some of those states (wyoming/montana/Idaho) won't take that many transplants to start that transition.
Oh, for sure. It's only 120k that separated Trump/Biden in 2020 in Wyo. NYC alone lost almost 500,000 people to pandemic migration.
Montana was only 99k difference between trump/biden.. and we know that a metric SHIT pile of people moved to Montana in 20-23. (Looking at you Bozeangeles)
I feel that Wyoming gets a bad rap, it's not that bad of a state. Some areas, just like all states, are pretty shit.. but I love Wyoming. I would move there in a heartbeat if I could.
An update to Google's privacy policy suggests that the entire public internet is fair game for it's AI projects. If Google can read your words, assume they belong to the company now, and expect that they’re nesting somewhere in the bowels of a chatbot.
This has been discussed elsewhere, and by people smarter than I, but chat bots are going to start learning from other chat bots and it's going to be less and less reliable over time, no?
Like there is an internet BEFORE ChatGPT, which is about as reliable of data as one could hope to find, and then there is a post day one chatgpt, which the data is already getting polluted by random LLM gibberish. How is google's webscraping going to know if the data it is getting is legitimate human being thoughts, or just random madeup shit from a LLM?
Right, but if they are training all new AI on shit they find online, like this comment, wouldn't that pollute that dataset, considering I generated this comment with AI?

I use this with most of my group chats. I'm an android user, they are all apple. Regular SMS messages suck between those two eco systems (thanks apple!).. but Signal works well.
I've pretty much retired my google chat accounts, and either use signal or regular sms
Hey guys! I usually check Lemmy on my Mac with the iOS apps, or my phone with Memmy, but I was wondering what the best way to view the site on Windows is?...
I'd love to deploy my own instance of either kbin or lemmy, but a ten buck a month price tag is a bit steep (imho). I'll wait until there are better guides for hosting my own.
