Master of the House: The Theatres of Cameron Mackintosh wins inaugural Architectural History Book of the Year

Master of the House: The Theatres of Cameron Mackintosh by Michael Coveney, with a foreword by Cameron Mackintosh, has won the inaugural Architectural History Book of the Year award.

The book charts the history of Mackintosh's eight historic London buildings (the Wyndham’s, the Noël Coward, the Prince Edward, the Prince of Wales, the Sondheim, the Victoria Palace, the Gielgud and the Novello Theatres) – their origins, shows and productions, and the role they have played in the development of the British theatre.

(Okay, so maybe this story isn't strictly related to musical theatre... but given how many musicals have played in these venues I think it's justifiable.)
