It's not necessarily a fault of the remaster as much as it is the original game design.
It wouldn't be so bad if they let you save anywhere but having to go through ludacris amounts of tricky platforming right before the Longhunter boss and not letting you save anywhere in that stretch is not fun.
I have died multiple times and restarted this section for the last hour and a half.
I'll give the remasters of 2 and 3 a shot at some point but I will never return to part one.
It's an interesting game and you can see how Metroid Prime really evolved the design that Turok started, but for the most part it has been an exercise in frustration.
@Judeau Bawk is incredibly fun to watch whatever he runs. I initially stumbled onto him, because he runs all the old tank controlled Survival Horror games, e.g. classic Resident Evil and Silent Hill.
If you're into that I fully recommend checking those out too. There's also countless videos on his YouTube channel where he runs RE mods...which...I didn't even know that RE could be modded before. 😅
