I've been playing Baldur's Gate 3 which has romance but not as much as I'd like.

I PLAN to play Yu's route from Gilded Shadows, which is an Indie VN, as soon as I get done with that.

I just looked up Gilded Shadows thanks to your post! Unfortunately the artstyle is not appealing to me. I hope you have fun with it. Curious if the character customization is something you enjoy—it is something BG3 has too.

Also, this comment made me realize I forgot to post the weekly Wednesday post for this week! Oops.

What is an Otome game?

-Primary focus on romance
-The gameplay’s primary purpose is to advance that romance
-Majority male love interests (at least 50%)
-Female protagonist (and if applicable a female presenting sprite)

What’s BL?
BL stands for boys love. It's a genre of MxM romance made mainly by women for women. It is welcome despite not being otome because of the overlap in fanbases.

You’ll notice that the above definitions exclude many works by talented LBGT+ devs that narrowly fall outside of our definition. This is so we can keep the conversation focused primarily on the interests of the fanbase, but it is not a gateway for for hate. We will not tolerate any homophobia or transphobia

Similarly, otome as a genre originates in Japan and the biggest release often features predominately Japanese and/or other light-skinned people, but that does not mean that we will tolerate any racism. Take your bigotry elsewhere

Currently kbin does not have native support for spoiler tags. For now please avoid major spoilers and clearly denote light spoilers.

We do have a work around implemented right now, but it only works on kbin.social, it doesn't seem to work when viewed from federated instances. Use this format:

Piracy Policy:
If the game does not have a legitimate English version and it's older than 5 years, direct piracy links are allowed.

If a game did have a legitimate English version but is on a system that is no longer supported, that specific version is ok to post. For example, Hakuoki on the 3DS is allowed because the eshop is closed, but Hakuoki on the Vita isn't because the Vita store is still running.
