Hello :) It's been 3 weeks since I created this magazine, and we already have a 34 subscribers and a handful of active members! I know that doesn't seem like a lot, but I really thought this place would be completely dead for the foreseeable future. Hopefully we continue to grow so we can have a bustling little community! In my original microblog, I said I would post news threads about once a week. Then I made one in the form of the "Otome News Round Up" and realized that once a week is far too often for Otome. Going forward, I'll aim to post these every other week. I'm open to changing the format of them as well. I hope they are as useful to others as they are to me; it's hard to keep tabs on what's going on in Otome outside of the tentpole releases.
Hi! Really loved r/otomegames but I messaged the mods and they are not planning to move off of Reddit, so I'm happy @Catch42 made this community for those of us fleeing Reddit.
@Elevator7009 I've just noticed that not all of your posts are appearing to me when you make them. Some of them are delayed by a few days. I'm guessing it's a federation issue that will be sorted out as time passes. Just thought I'd let you know, so you know that people aren't intentionally ignoring you.
@Catch42 Oh yeah you’re probably right about that. I made a post to a different community and it never federated over to lemmy.world, its home community, after 2 days. I ended up giving up and making a Lemmy account in order to post there.
Currently playing through #cupidparasite and being pleasantly surprised by a character I didn’t expect to like. I love how the protagonist has such a fresh perspective on #romance it’s really easy to get an understanding of the rather problematic characters like Ryuki.
Either in #otomegames or #rpg#jrpg or other kinds of #videogames who was a character you ended up liking more than initially expected?
(Scan of the official white day art provided by @der_lanlan, thanks a lot!)
@OtomeKame Hi OtomeKame, I'm the mod of m/otomegames over on kbin. Your toot shows up in our microblog section since we're federated together. Thought I'd reach out tell you about our existence. I made m/otomegames as a recent reddit refugee, and it's growing nicely, we have like 3 daily active users! Technically you can subscribe to m/otomegames from mastadon but consider making an account on kbin or Lemmy if you want to interact more.
@Catch42 thanks for letting me know! I’m still kinda figuring how everything works, but I’ll gladly try out kbin once there is an app available, as I’m not too happy with going back and forth in the browser on mobile. :) but it seems there is an app in the works, i’m looking forward to it!
The 2nd birthday card story for #Marius was pretty cute. His dynamic together with MC is adorable as always, and I feel like we haven't had his artistic side front-and-center in a while. I think they overreacted to the NPC of the week and his shenanigans quite a bit, but I can overlook it if I assume he was one of Marius' only friends for a few key years of his life.
Wish this site had some way to mark spoilers for more detail.
Hello, yes, I posted this microblog to your magazine on purpose :)
Unfortunately I'm not into some of the content covered by your magazine (BL) so I'm unlikely to participate beyond the occasional microblog. But I wish you luck!
@Catch42 oh ToT doesn't tie you down to the clock at all like MysMe did! It's a standard "accumulate energy over time, spend energy when you log in" format. It's more involved at the start of course, when all the content is open to you, but as a day 1 player, most days I spend less than 10 minutes on it. (I wish I had cause to spend more time on it, which is why I get into side stuff like maintaining its wiki).
What kind of guy is usually your favorite in an otome?
I made this magazine as a substitute for r/otomegames, Welcome! Being a fairly niche topic, it will probably be a while until there's more than a few of us. Still, I'm here, and check on the magazine regularly. If you start a thread, at the very least, I'll respond. I'll try to make make a new thread about otome news about once a week. Otherwise, expect this to stay pretty dead for a while.
Hello everyone! I finally decided to join mastodon after my dissatisfaction with Reddit (especially frustration stemming from being a huge subreddit mod; goodbye essential moderation tools!)
I’m hoping to engage with the community sharing my interests like
