@grivettcarnac we can apply the same argument to nearly every construction project across the city.

There road is closed or severely narrowed for weeks if not months and…. nothing happens.

The way I see it, these closures are simply proof that we have too much space dedicated to cars. We don’t need months long feasibility studies, we just need some mock road construction to start dedicating space to people again.

@tomgatzgates @grivettcarnac Wellington was closed for a year. The biggest complaint seemed to be from councillors who complained that people driving across Ottawa drove through Gatineau instead.

I fail to see how this was bad for Ottawa. Those drivers didn't stop and shop in Gatineau (they never do) and all the wear and tear on roads was out of province. The city of Gatineau didn't complain.

These morons wanted a traffic jam in front of parliament Hill so they opened the road back up to create it.

    I'll never understand this.

@grivettcarnac I was pondering this very thing; how much money would be saved if they just made it for active use? How long would that extend the life of the bridge?
