Morality is not something I personally give the UN a lot of credit for...political correctness seems more common (if the politics are anti-US or allies). And legal authority is questionable for the same reasons. Objectivity is not their greatest asset.
I love how the states of the 'global South' generally have better moral positions, after 1945, I would have hoped that whatever the Zionist state did was to be like that, it was a mistake because young me thought Jewish = Zionist, but that is not true, at all.

@tadbithuman@LALegault@DrALJONES it would be entirely logical and fair that the states who have made money from weapons sales to Israel should contribute to the reconstruction of Palestine, apart from any applicable sanctions.
Seems to be it would be logical for the $3.8 billion per year subsidy from the US to be diverted from Israel to Palestine. it would help rebuild Palestine and reduce Israel’s military power: win-win.

I really respect and share your desire for some remains of optimism. But, realistically, there will be neither restoration of Palestine, nor reparations. Tbh, i only see refugee and concentration camps, where Palestinians are doomed to endure for decades.😩 😡

It isn't going to be easy, it will likely take a long time, but it will be easier and come sooner if more of us make this case often enough. Reparations for the enslaved peoples, the First Nations, the colonized and the wronged people.
