Some help figuring out the search

So lemmy.world is a different website. The community you're mentioning is @lemmyworld and the hard url when viewing form kbin is: https://kbin.social/m/lemmyworld@lemmy.world notably lemmy marks it's communities with an exclamation point at the beginning, but kbin does not. So you need to search without the exclamation mark.

Not all communities will be searchable between kbin and other sites just yet, because kbin is getting a lot of new users and traffic, so it's messing up the federation a bit at the moment.

Thank you for the quick explanation, that makes sense! I had the impression the format of the names is a standard somehow, but apparently not.

There is a standard. idk what's up with lemmy's exclamation marks, but the standard is: @ name @ url. Lemmy, for whatever reason, puts an exclamation mark in front of the group name. But it otherwise uses the exact same format. The same is true for usernames as well (which afaik lemmy doesn't put an exclamation mark in front of).

Once the traffic flooding/spikes calm down, and the Cloudflare protection is removed, .social should begin federating again as normal.
