Now free for all to read... I spent two days in the middle of nowhere, rolling across the Nullarbor Plain aboard the Indian Pacific train. Here's what it was like:
@timrichards@seatsixtyone I did this trip way back when they had red kangaroo class - by the time we arrived in Kalgoorlie, I was well and truly ready to get off! Had one of the single cabins on the Ghan last year -a much more civilised experience, by a factor of about a million.
@timrichards@seatsixtyone I took that trip for some time alone. It was fantastic as long as I stayed in my cabin otherwise there was too much enthusiastic socialising. Not what I was there for.
@CaraBruar@timrichards@seatsixtyone Yes, I tend to agree. Enthusiastic socialising is a good way to put it. Sometimes successful, sometimes not. Lucky dip!
@sister_ratched@CaraBruar@seatsixtyone I enjoy the socialising on that train; it is a rail cruise after all. Luckily you end up with different people at each meal, no you're not stuck with anyone.
