It's been 50 years since Gary Kildall demonstrated the first working prototype of CP/M.

@amoroso Great article! I find the definition of O/S mechanics a little narrow, but a fitting tribute to the life and times of Gary Kindall. There's also a 28 minute documentary to watch here: https://youtu.be/Tdj8gh9GPc4?si=jqIAktGyLyGVpeV5

@amoroso That's worthy of celebration. Think the only one I have around at present is an Amstrad CPC-664 emulator. I should try CP/M-86 in qemu. I suppose Atari TOS is, in part, CP/M-68k with a filesystem from CDOS (DOSPLUS?), if that counts.

@lopta I use both CP/M-80 and CP/M-86

@amoroso What do you run CP/M-80 on?

amoroso,

@lopta I have a Z80-MBC2 homebrew computer that runs CP/M-80 and a V20-MBC that runs both CP/M-86 and CP/M-80.
