I was noticing that my cat and I seem to share some behaviors, which made me wonder if cats aren't a little bit autistic. Or maybe I'm a little bit cat?
Which gave me the idea to come up with a facetious self-assessment quiz: Are you autistic, or are you a house cat?
We clearly have something to learn from cats. They command obedience and service from humans, seemingly just by being themselves. But the ND crowd are less sucessful at bending NTs to their will. What is it that cats aren't telling us?

Extremely affectionate to a very small number of people, loves vegetables, always dealing with sensory overload, bullied by the other cats, does things his own unique way even for a cat...
@EVDHmn@KitOz@actuallyautistic I was being playful, for the most part. I do think he's a little different from the other cats. He does better with other species than his own, kind of like many of us.

Well, I realize you may have but we really do try to help them be accepted. In cat social ways they truely all are different. The biggest thing is their nervous system for hyper agitation has different sensitivity to different stimuli and once wound they are in a cross between zoomie and highly agitated
We have daily therapy sessions to make sure all of our cats needs are met and everyone is accepted for themselves. Getting them exercise helps with anxiety. They all have their own special interests and just started working on a catio for them

I have never come out and said it until just now, but I believe that is why our rescue dog Kaz and I bonded so well. I understood her behavior, her interests, when nobody else did. And she recognized it and responded to me. I think I was to her what we all wish prople were to us. And she in turn gave me so much joy just by being her, wanting to be with me.
@KitOz@actuallyautistic I am basically one part each of Labrador (food, only two emotional states, three if you count hungry), borzoi (not sure where my limbs are at any given moment... can sleep all day or run around like a loon, depends how I feel), cave salamander (cool, dark places are nice**), and hamster (hoard stuff, I will react with violence if you touch me unexpectedly).
