Spent some time last night updating StableDiffusion Models on my laptop and trying to get into writing prompts again.

The laptop has an older Nvidia 950M GPU, and it takes a bit to work, but it does output stuff.

@CWSmith neat! I use Midjourney for ease of use and portability but Stable Diffusion has been making good strides in quality lately!

I just wish I had better hardware for the process. I pay for Google Colab, but I need to work on getting it functional again as well.

@CWSmith yeah, that's the bad thing about the FOSS models, you need pretty good hardware to run them decently enough to be worth it😬🤷‍♂️there are good projects like #AIHorde that you can use. It runs on community hardware. Best way to do that is https://tinybots.net/artbot/create

I need the hardware for other projects as well, so at least it's not just for SD. But yeah that costs, and since it has to play nice with my space constraints from the short bus/van living project it gets a bit more difficult.

My Dad keeps insisting I should just get a plain white Ford. I keep eyeing short buses that allow me to stand up straight.

And some laptops may fit the bill but who knows.

@CWSmith I do! I have a laptop with a 2080 that could probably do some stuff pretty well! It's expensive, but if there's many things you could use it for, it's an investment, not an expense🤷‍♂️ I recommend https://iBuyPower.com

Looking actually at system76 and tuxedo computers so I can get something I know I can repair if need be and doesn't come with Windows.

Always make sure what you buy you can repair yourself. The dump it when it doesn't work mentality builders have taken up in recent years is wasteful.

@CWSmith yeah. That was my first and probably last laptop purchase because I cannot fix laptops :kek: 🤷‍♂️ desktops are where it's at and unforunately, windows is what i know
