I posted The Prodigy’s song, ‘Firestarter’, just before. In the same year, Underworld released this as a single, after its inclusion on the soundtrack to Trainsotting. It uniquely straddled dance/techno and alternative clubbing realms. It also had chart presence in certain countries. I consider this a really essential song...

Not sure if this is the place for it but was anybody at the Ocean’s Calling festival this weekend? There were some solid alt bands there (O.A.R., Gin Blossoms, Michigander). Wasn’t sure if anybody else made the trip.

2000s - 2010s, lead singer was a 20 to 30 y/o woman, from the pacific northwest (Seattle maybe?). She made a couple of records with a band and then made a couple as a solo artist under her own name. Fiery as f***, rockin’ and melodic. Sort of a retro look and style....
