I get angry each time I see something from the ancestral lands being shown in V&A and British Museum. Entire generations don’t have access to this cultural heritage (Hindu and Buddhist, I should add)
@ssharadmohhan@cendawanita Specific to this image, you see Vishnu in 2d and with a moustache and not muscular at all: completely different from more contemporary images which are inspired by classical European paintings and later films. This sort of profile - with relatable Dravidian features - doesn’t exist anymore, partly because people don’t see images such as this in temples and such anymore.
