Who expects that? When is "over time"? What possible evidence do we have that Covid is going to settle down and become seasonal? Nothing we've seen this far suggests that. We have waves across the globe all year around, along with changed patterns for influenza, RSV and other viruses.
I agree from a PH perspective, yearly vaccines might mean more vaccinated
Getting most people vaccinated once a year is better than not getting them coming back for boosters ever.
But It would be better with "everyone should get Covid and influenza vaccines at the start of flu season. An optimal booster in 6 months is available. But be sure to not miss your primary dose at the start of every flu season"
@jarich@DenisCOVIDinfoguy@auscovid19 nah this is ridiculous. Those shots last a couple months and telling people 1x a year is fine will give them a false sense of security.
@nikink@DenisCOVIDinfoguy@auscovid19 It’s a team of US researchers though, and the US govt has ended the free vaccine program anyway. Nothing about it makes sense, until we have better vaccines.
