@mativity as someone who has just paid off the last of mine, I feel there are some equity issues in a wholesale wiping of debt, but I think they should definitely wind back the ridiculous fee changes made under the last government. Also, any move that makes unis even more dependent on international students for cash will not lead to good outcomes

Agree that there are equity issues. At least now, with wages behind inflation, graduates are not going to fall increasingly behind. @mativity
@Bandicoot@mativity yes. they should also fix the timing so indexation happens after 30 june, so interest is not charged on debt that's already been paid off!
@luciedigitalni it's a good change although they should make another and move the indexation from June to November so the repayments made throughout the year come off before indexation is applied
