It’s the XBox store on XBox (or disc for now). Steam runs on Windows, but does it run on MS XBox handheld?
Would take years to litigate against that, and it seems like Apple will loose their battle (and my money is that a shit show will follow), but it doesn’t seem like it would spread fast.
SteamOS is vendor locked in by Valve. Afaik there’s no other stores (am I wrong). I guess MS and Epic could make Linux stores if they wanted to.
Time will tell if I was just rambling and got it wrong. Historically I’m probably 50/50:)
But that’s why I think Valve would be smart to extend SteamOS to other hardware or risk just becoming irrelevant.
(MS is also likely to keep pushing XCloud with GaaS and leverage their massive warchest and servers to kill competition outright. They are a SaaS company after all.)
