In the video Russ uses JELOS on a Powkiddy X55, RG353V, RG552, and the Ayaneo Air Pro to show how to setup net play and provides a few examples. He states that he wasn’t able to get Pokemon battles/trading working. GB games work when a save game isn’t required.
Netplay should work for any retroarch core that supports it, however there may be additional work to to be done to configure netplay which we haven't addressed.
You're more than welcome to join us at JELOS if even only to collaborate with us. We're still working on fixing up the few remaining issues with this device. ❤️
@kelbot JELOS has been around since early 2022, it is a fork of my previous creation 351ELEC which I started in November 2020. Christian from ArkOS is a friend of the project, we share all of our knowledge.
@kelbot Glad you like it! Our operating model at the moment is bring your own pull requests, we don't have issues enabled. We're working on transitioning to a community support model if we can find enough volunteers to help. Most of our development conversation happens on our discord, link is next to our logo on https://www.jelos.org. :)
@kelbot I think you can get into the splore settings by pressing select and then exit is one of the submenu options. I don't use it often so I'm not 100% sure on that.
@requiem, you can look at our mpv media playback implementation for inspiration if it helps. Happy to chat about how all of that comes together on our discord. :)
@requiem I added GMU for music playback yesterday, so it's available now in JELOS. There's a bit more integration work to do and it's not playing audio when it starts yet, but we'll get that worked out.
@kelbot Oh, in this release you have to have at least one music file in /storage/roms/music or it won't show up. In the next release we'll switch to a start script and any playlists that exist.
@kelbot We'll probably need some help from the community with setting up the controls, I just quickly implemented a common set that worked across devices. First iteration, etc. :D
Hello retro computing fans! I wanted to thank you for joining our new little corner of the internet, and ask if anyone would like to contribute or if anyone has an idea for a Creative Commons or other copyleft licensed logo to represent our magazine?

Love to see more Linux-based options. Maybe we will see a device with better build quality on the same chipset.
