my mom checked out of autumn lake rehab in #baltimore back in January and they had the audacity to go to social security administration to change her address back to theirs and claim guardianship. i’ve gotta get another lawyer AGAIN! one of the most disgusting nursing homes i’ve ever been to in my life.
@paris I am so sorry you are having to endure this. The “care” industry can be very predatory and it’s unreal that humans think these kind of actions are acceptable.
@vees@paris Rob, it's one hell of a racket. They prey on the vulnerable expecting that most families can't or won't fight it. I've seen it first hand as well.
I'm sorry this is happening again Paris. You have my sympathy.
@JoeJulian@vees it’s a racket alright. they wanted me to sign her life over to them before i had the guardianship in place and then stole her funds by having her, with dementia, sign papers she shouldn’t have. lied to her about what they were. the stuff i’ve heard and experienced over the last year has scared me so much for my own future. i feel so bad for my mom.
