I was waiting for something exciting to happen this week and it did Monday. My “adopted” mom called me Monday night having chest pain. I called 911 and stayed with her and dispatch while she had a heart attack. Been with her every day after work since. Double bypass next week. I’ve been taking care of her house and stuff since her kids are hours away. It’s crazy how i can be so out of control myself so often yet when a catastrophe happens to someone else I was absolutely calm. Bizarre.
I’m so sorry to hear that! You are such a badass for doing all of that, like you said, calmly and in control. I hope your mom’s surgery goes well and I wish her a swift recovery. Keep us updated!
I think it’s official that I’ve kicked the weed now. I’m at one month, no longer experiencing withdrawals. Lithium is working pretty well instead but doesn’t have the calming effect that I really appreciated from getting high, so I’m just raw angry pretty often with very little in the way of “valid” ways express it. Much more competent at life stuff though, actually able to get things done, so that’s a plus I guess.
I’m going to say congrats despite the raw anger. It’s hard to quit, and sounds like you are noticing positive changes. I hope the anger will process out over time, or you will find ways to express it. You have every reason to be proud.
