Can anyone recommend a good way to scrub a reddit account prior to deletion? I saw a few good bits of info back on reddit a few days ago but can't find them now. I'd like to get it knocked out before it can't be done via API.
It also gives you the option to mass edit all your comments to something of your choice. Some people are choosing to do that rather than simply deleting their comments entirely, so as to A) let people know why your account was scrubbed to raise awareness, and B) make your account more useless to AI scrapers for training.
in addition to power delete suite, redact added the option to rewrite comments. either works, though with power delete suite i had to manually edit some comments that i kept missing even when i reran the script.
He probably had this written up before the blackout even happened. What is he gonna say? "My idea and AMA was so awful it cost us a bunch of money and took the site down"?
We got a ton of bad media PR for reddit and broke the site. Good enough for me.
I wonder if spez is so mindwarped by now that he actually thinks "the product" is any part of reddit's technology or infrastructure and not the users that create and moderate all of the content for free.
Homeboy's gonna fly in his private jet back to New Zealand and cry, go cry in his bunker once everyone leaves the Reddit because of his stupid ass changes for advertisers... OR I'm just not going to use the site anymore. Which is probably what's going to happen, honestly.
in prep for potentially (likely?) no changes, and also for other reddit migrants to have a home, ive been trying to help contribute content and engage with others on here. ive been getting used to it here :) i recommend everyone engage with each other, fill niches not filled, and explore.
That's the hilarious part. This man is so brainwashed by his own ego and BS, he thinks SPECIFICALLY doing the opposite of what the users (the only thing that makes his company worth a dime) want is "improving our product" ..... Mind boggling stupidity right here.
This'll go down in the history books as one of the worst ways to torpedo a company. Congrats.
