What Creamer do you prefer? Anyone sitting on a gem?
I’ve been thinking of ‘solving’ the creamer issue for myself lately and then I saw Hoffman’s video. What do you swear by?

qwet, btw, go for the second dub… worth it.
Prestron, For a video featuring so much of his disgust I was kind of hoping it was nothing but slurps. Maybe next time.
Bahalex, Try Hames Joffmanturn on captions for best reults.
Gingerlegs, International Delight sweet cream 🤤
dezmd, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Coffeemate.
Just a little bit (or a lot, you do you), supplement with unsweet coffeemate or half and half to preference of cream vs sweet vs strong coffee.
You’re welcome.
Screwthehole, Bailey’s cream liquor
lildictator, The breakfast of champions!
slackassassin, Creamy beige.
CannedTuna, The best choice
Pronell, I prefer simple half-and-half. To me it’s sweet enough on its own to cut down the bitterness, no other sugar needed.
VerifiablyMrWonka, Love this video. Had me properly chuckling at points.
ipha, I just like a bit of oat milk, though I usually drink lighter roasts black.
fiah, I didn’t know there was a coffee community here and now I’m not so sure I wanted to know
FartsWithAnAccent, My gem? Drinking coffee black.
qwet, Same atm, but I’m feeling adventurous so I’ve decided to branch out. I’m thinking heavy whipping cream (thx Bioemerl) with a wee kick of honey to start. maybe see what vanilla extract will do…
myusernameisokay, Maybe try with a bit of milk. If you enjoy black coffee why go for something unhealthy like creamer?
qwet, creamer isn’t exactly unhealthy, its the full context of a persons diet that matters, really. indulgences are the spice of life. Maybe ill try both…
Talaraine, heavy cream has very few carbs, making it a purposeful choice in many diets
xts, it’s extremely fatty though so you really shouldn’t use it super often if you have it in coffee
Talaraine, There's a number of recent diets that prefer fat over carbs.
xts, Eating high saturated fats like those found in heavy cream isn’t a great idea on the daily. It can raise your cholesterol decently which can lead to build up in your arteries.
Low carb diets like that are probably fine short term but it’s not something you want to be on continuously due to the fat.
Talaraine, It's clear you care, so thank you =) Without going down a rabbit hole (I mean if you want to, we can lol), in my particular case the opposite worked. Yes my cholesterol is high, but due to the specifics of my diet, it's all HDL and very little LDL, so I'm golden. I also no longer have atherosclerosis and a zero calcium score.(yay!)
I think humankind still has much to learn about ourselves.
xts, Oh man that’s great! Congrats!! Always amazing to overcome health challenges like that.
Yeah I agree lol, I mean who knows what half of this processed stuff is doing to us. Might be causing the rapidly falling fertility across the world given that microplastics have been found in wombs :(
starlinguk, Most creamer is a bunch of crappy additives thrown together. Get a bunch of syrups and cream or barista oat milk instead.
Poggervania, Black coffee >>>>> anything with sugar and/or creamer
Countess425, I like Silk’s soy creamer. Original flavor is preferable, but vanilla is still better than anything else. Starbucks’ soy (they only have vanilla), Coffee mate, international delight, etc are all too sweet for me (even, maybe especially the sugar-free varieties). Oat milk is too high in sugar content, almond creamer doesn’t have the right texture. Half and half or milk are okay, though I feel like it masks or neutralizes the nuttiness of my favorite roast.
I try new stuff when I can, and usually switch to something pumpkin spice flavored in the fall, but I always settle back on Silk soy creamer. 🤷♀️
ilovetacos, Same for me. Of the plant based creamers I’ve tried it is the only one that has a nice creamy quality without any coconut milk in it. I can’t stand coconut milk in things that aren’t supposed to taste like coconut. Plus soy milk is one of the more sustainable and nutritious plant milks.
ivanafterall, I'm an iced breve latte man. Espresso + half & half instead of milk.
SnoopyGirl09, Omg I worked at a cafe/bakery/restaurant and made a breve latte on a whim. I’d never even heard of it before, it was just like “Hmmm I like whole better than 2%, I wonder what half and half would be like.” Blew my fucking mind dude. Made one for a friend with like a teaspoon of sugar and she didn’t believe me when I told her I didn’t use creamer lmao. Breve ALL DAY.
ivanafterall, Yes, I have two a day most days. It's a problem. It adds up, even making them at home. But when you first discover it, it's like discovering what coffee was always supposed to be.
bioemerl, Heavy whipping cream.
Why?
It lasts forever in the fridge and it isn't hydrogenated oil that will clog your arteries with transfats.
ma11en, Christmas treat.
ivanafterall, This is what got me on my breve latte kick. I did keto and started drinking lattes with only heavy cream. SO HEAVY, but allowed on keto, and also keeps you full. Eventually switched to breve (half and half instead of straight cream/lard).
mdwyer, Oh god yes. The heavier the better. I go to the restaurant supply stores so I can get the super-heavy-duty 40% cream. None of that weak-ass 36% water.
mustardman, That’s weapons-grade heavy cream.
defaultnamespace, Same. Heavy cream crew.
woodnote, Heavy whipping cream in coffee is such an indulgent game-changer. I thought, how could it be that different from half-and-half? But it truly is something special.
netwren, I just use the milk frother that came with my Nespresso. Super convenient because it heats it up too.
Metal_Zealot, I know they’re all just flavoured olive oil, but damn do I love the Oreo flavoured one…
PAPPP, Now days they’re almost all flavored coconut oil.
Which, as someone who is rather allergic to coconut, is annoying, because I have to assume I’ll have an issue with any not-actually-milk coffee cream product.
Land O Lakes Mini Moos are shelf-stable actual milk products and I keep some in my desk. Essentially all the rest of the shelf stable products, liquid or powder, have converted to coconut based. I don’t know if the economics have changed, or if it’s because they don’t have to say “Hydrogenated” if its hydrogenated right from the plant.
RowdyRaider79, Dunkin Donuts extra extra. Real cream and sugar in one. Super convenient.
jwagner7813, I drink this a lot but I can’t help but feel their coffee is way too watery so all I taste is water sugar and milk with a hint of coffee flavor.
RowdyRaider79, I don’t drink their coffee, I just use the creamer which I can only seem to find at Kroger. My go-to coffee is Cameron’s highlander Grogg, or if I can’t find that I go with the Kroger Brand. Both are decent and you can make it as strong as you want at home.
