juergen_hubert, As I am delving further into #Glorantha , I am struck how the default assumption of #RuneQuest is that the player character are tightly bound to a specific clan and region - while in #DnD , the PCs are usually assumed to be "independent adventurers" beholden to no one (neither of these #ttrpg are limited to these approaches, but that's usually the starting point).
Which brings me to the scope of the games I have played in and run in the past. In my younger days, the PCs were often globetrotting - traveling from one country or region to the next. I suspect we were all influenced by "The Lord of the Rings" which, after all, is a huge travel quest.
But now, as I grow older, I usually run campaigns with a more regional focus. The PCs almost always have a fixed "home base", and there are lots of recurring NPCs they interact with - and scheme with or against. They will explore the surrounding regions, and their hometown will change over time - but they will always return home.
Thus, I am curious - what is the scope of your own campaign? Are the PCs homeless travelers who always move from one place to the next - or do they stick to a particular town or region?
