I finally got the dreaded over storage warning from google today. What is everyone moving to these days? People were moving to dropbox advance but i heard its not really unlimited anymore. I have 30TB of data that can’t be reproduced (family videos and photos). Any recommendations? I prefer not to spend $100+ a month on...

I have about 100gb and growing that is critical for my business. File size growth is slow, so it will be years and years before it even gets to 200gb....

What in your hoard do you treasure the most? I imagine to a lot of us it is photos and videos of our families, which I’d love to hear about, but also interested in rare bits of media or information that makes your collection unique.

Well I’m just about fed up with streaming bullshit. I currently have a home server that’s just a raspberry pi4 with a bunch of docker containers and it served my light usage well....

I have an old computer that I use for storing and streaming my media. It has an attached external drive. I would like to increase my storage and build something that could be extensible to at least 100TB. I am not worried about backup....

I noticed there is no link for this lemmy instance at the subreddit, people would get lost if this continues....

With Google Workspace cracking down on storage (Been using them for unlimited storage for years now) I was lucky to get a limit of 300TBs, but now I have to actually watch what gets stored lol...

I admit they were way too cheap for what they are (like 15% cheaper than same-size Ironwolf), so I gambled it haha there were no indications that these drives were OEM or similar....

I have an old Synology 1819 NAS that was the unfortunate victim of the Intel Atom/Clock bug. I would like to repurpose the case as I like the compact form factor. Has anyone tried replacing a synology mobo with something else (ex: an ITX board or a Raspberry Pi), and using an alternative operating system?

My grandparents are downsizing there collections of turds and gold and they want their homemade movies archived. I was thinking of a component capture card with obs. What would be a good capture card or a better way to archive?...
